Ten sentenced of digital abuse directed at Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has convicted ten people for engaging in the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The defendants faced accusations of circulating untruths regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the couple's significant age difference.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has yet to be released.
A circulating conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has spread widely since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a libel case in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.
Their legal filing contends that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence disproving her claim in favour of give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these assertions on her show and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron initially encountered her future husband when she taught at his secondary school.
The pair married in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
